We don’t always remember trips by dates or landmarks. Sometimes we remember them by what we carried with us.
Like the bag that held your passport and a folded receipt from a café you can’t pronounce. Or the bracelet you wore every day because it felt grounding in unfamiliar places. All the small details that became part of your rutine and rhythm.
For example, last month I took some days off and my friends and I decided to have a trip. We went to Lisbon for a week, and our accessories where our best companions. For me, it started with a shiny gold crochet clutch. It carried the essentials and nothing more. Each day, it adapted: resting on a restaurant chair, pressed against me in crowded streets, tossed onto the bed like a quiet companion. Useful and comfortable. It moved with us instead of demanding attention or maintenance.
Then there was my crochet gold bracelet and dangle earrings. Since we traveled light, I didnt pack too many accessories. But with the ones that I took did the perfect job of making me look put together and classy with zero efort. In addition of making me feel secure and confident to go out to the unknown streets. And ready to find new adventures.

Travel has a way of stripping things down. We pack less, choose better, repeat what works. And in that repetition, meaning begins to form.
You start reaching for the same pieces without thinking, and they slowly become part of your own rhythm and routine.
By the end of the journey, the accessory no longer feels new. It feels lived in, like it belongs to a slower, more present version of you.
Some accessories stay on shelves, but other accessories get to travel with us, quietly collecting stories along the way.
