There was a moment in my life where everything felt uncertain.
I had just quit a job that left me uninspired and underpaid. With barely any savings, I found myself working with my dad in an industry that didn’t speak to my creativity or sense of purpose. Deep down, I knew I was meant for something else — something that would allow me to express my vision, my culture, and build something meaningful.
That’s when the dream of my company Munai was born.
As a fashion designer, I’ve always loved working with traditional techniques and hand made products. I admired other ethical brands partnering with artisans in Africa or South America— and I dreamed of doing the same in my home country, Bolivia. I wanted to create something that celebrated my culture, empowered local talent, and made people feel aware that my hometown even exists.
Munai started with handwoven textiles, macramé, and crochet — originally as a home décor brand. But as the vision evolved, so did the product. What began as a creative outlet grew into a brand of hand made accessories that include: hand bags, beach cover ups, alpaca wool plushies, jewelry and more!
Building Munai wasn’t easy. I was scared, unsure, and learning everything from scratch. But my love for handmade accessories kept me going. This wasn’t just about me — it was about creating a future where artisans, families, and communities could thrive through their craft.
Today, Munai is more than just a brand. It’s a slow fashion label that honors the beauty of Bolivian heritage and the talent of the hands behind every piece. Each item is a reminder of where we come from — and where we can go when we build something with heart.
Our best sellers now include: Luna dress, Andreina Vest, Solana Bag. All handmade in Bolivia!
